About

Since 1948, Christ Child House has been a beacon of hope for abused and neglected children in the Detroit area. Today, it stands as an intensive residential treatment center licensed by the state of Michigan, offering essential services for up to 25 boys between the ages of 6 and 16. These young individuals typically grapple with emotional, behavioral, and physical challenges stemming from severe abuse and neglect.

Christ Child House is owned and operated by the esteemed Christ Child Society of Detroit, a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) agency. Accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Families and Children (COA) and a member of the Michigan Federation for Children and Families, we adhere to the highest standards of care. In 2012, the House received the honor of being named the "Best Children's Home in Detroit" for the fourth consecutive year by the US. Commerce Association.

The philosophy of Christ Child House — “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood” — guides the agency in its special mission.
